Dear Prospective Member:
Thank you for your interest in Kesher Israel! Kesher Israel is a vibrant, dynamic and diverse community, which has a commitment to helping our members
grow spiritually and deepen their understanding of Jewish practices. We incorporate both a deep respect and love for the Jewish tradition as well as a commitment to making our tradition accessible and meaningful to all who participate in our community. We place a very strong emphasis on Tikun Olam, making the world a better place, through such efforts as our gleaning garden, food and clothing drives, and providing meals for a local homeless shelter.
Our mission is to build sacred community with the tools of Jewish tradition. Whether it is the warmth of a Friday evening family service, the buzz of activity as children arrive in the morning for preschool, the caring of a volunteer who brings over a meal for a family observing shiva, or the sharing of ideas at a Shabbat morning Torah study session, Kesher Israel is a place where Jewish community can be found. Whether you come to celebrate or to mourn, to socialize or to worship, to be educated or to be rejuvenated, Kesher Israel has something to offer you.
Our members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and as you explore the information on this website, you will see that we have something for everyone – from Youth Groups to an Empty Nester’s Chavurah, from Sisterhood to Men’s Club, an excellent Preschool and Religious school, Tot Shabbat and Family services, opportunities to learn and grow Jewishly, Musical Shabbat Services, and so much more.
We believe that the best way for you to decide if you would like to become part of our community is to attend services and programs or events, speak to our members and learn more about our congregation. Our doors are always open and you are welcome to visit us and participate in our synagogue services or any of our upcoming programs or events. If you let us know you are coming, we will ensure that someone is there to meet you. Kesher Israel is located on Pottstown Pike, just north of the borough of West Chester and Route 322. Click here for Directions.
Financial concerns should never be a barrier to membership, and we are committed to finding a place for anyone who wants to be part of our community. No one is turned away for financial reasons. Dues adjustments are always available, and the dues adjustment process is sensitive and confidential. All you need to do is contact us to discuss a membership agreement that makes sense for you. Please do not hesitate to ask.
We look forward to welcoming you to Kesher Israel. We hope that you will choose to make our Kesher Israel family part of your family. If you would like more information about Kesher Israel and what we have to offer, please feel free to call the synagogue office at 610-696-7210, e-mail us at shalom@kesher-israel.org to send a message to the membership committee. In addition, we would be happy to meet with you and give you a tour of our building and answer any questions you might have.
B ‘Shalom,
