Study Session: “Witness to the Catastrophe: Josephus on the Destruction of the Second Temple”

Flavius Josephus was a general in the war against the Romans (66-72 CE). Captured by the Romans he became (to many) a traitor and eventually joined the staff of the Roman general Titus. Most importantly he wrote a history of the War including a first-hand account of the siege of Jerusalem, its fall and the destruction of the Temple. We will look at excerpts from his writing.

Following the study session members of Kesher Israel and Or Shalom will chant the Book of Lamentations.
